Expert Guidance

We realize that individuals have wide-ranging financial needs. For many people, providing financial security for those they care about is a major concern. For some individuals, accumulating substantial wealth - or preserving it - is a primary objective. Still, others want to create an estate plan and fund it. Business owners may want to ensure that what they have built can pass smoothly from one generation to the next. Preparing for your financial future in any of these situations can be complex. It is important to have the help of highly-trained and experienced professionals.

Community Focus

One of the most rewarding aspects of our workplace is our commitment to bettering the lives of others. With that in mind, we have put our collective efforts behind Northwestern Mutual Foundation's national philanthropic program to combat childhood cancer. Our vision is simple: a world without childhood cancer. Our mission is to support children and their families facing the daily struggles of this disease and help accelerate the cure to childhood cancers.

Northwestern Mutual is proud to be the presenting sponsor of the 2018 Rose Bowl Game. The company is using the opportunity to raise awareness for the fight against childhood cancer through the 129th Rose Parade. The theme of the Northwestern Mutual float, “Letting Kids Be Kids,” will feature childhood cancer patients who rediscovered their happiness through camp. Scott Cohen, an associate wealth management advisor at Northwestern Mutual — West Los Angeles, will be featured on the float in recognition of 10 years volunteering with Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times. Learn more about the positive impact of camp for patients battling cancer by watching this video.

In October 2017, Northwestern Mutual Los Angeles hosted The Spectacular Sounds of Autism, a fundraiser supporting autism awareness and services in higher education and employment. All contributions towards the event helped to launch a pioneering program designed to prepare students with autism for success in academics and professional careers. We raised over $150,000 at the event, which benefitted the Child and Adult Neurodevelopmental Clinic at the UCLA Center for Autism Research and Treatment.

In September 2015, we funded the remodeling of a new teen lounge to improve the life and health of patients at Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA. The new, warm design resembles a coffee shop or lounge with the intention of easing stress and supporting the overall health and well-being of teen patients. The remodeled space includes a large flat-screen HDTV, egg-shaped reading chairs and an air hockey and pool table.

In June 2015, we hosted "A Night to Fight Childhood Cancer," an inaugural gala and silent auction that raises funds for research and support to families battling childhood cancer. The gala both celebrated the courageous children and their families who are fighting the daily battle against cancer as well as highlighted the impactful work of the charities and hospitals that build hope and community awareness of the disease. We raised over $250,000 through ticket sales and auction items, which benefitted three organizations - Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA, and the GameChanger Charity.

Every year, members of our organization impact the fight against childhood cancer by raising funds for life-saving research during the “Annual Race for Research” in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Since 2013, we have raised over $20,000 through this race. The donation, which was made to Alex's Lemonade Stand, has funded over 400 hours of research. Click here to learn how you can help.

Individually, whether we serve on a board, as a coach, or as a tutor, we are passionate about our philanthropic activities. In 2016, we became proud recipients of Northwestern Mutual’s Regional Childhood Cancer Impact Award, an honor bestowed upon on us on both the National and Regional levels in the past. This award, from the Northwestern Mutual Foundation, recognizes our representatives and staff for exemplary service and community involvement efforts to fund childhood cancer research and support families battling the disease in the Los Angeles area.
